Welcome to Lifehacker, After Hours: Time to Turn On Incognito Mode

Here at Lifehacker, we think of ourselves as a home base for the helpful, practical, and productive...and we've never been what you would call "edgy." We've never strayed too far from our more conservative nature. Today, we're changing that.

Welcome to After Hours, a new Lifehacker sub-blog dedicated to...well, tips and tricks we wouldn't normally put on Lifehacker. Sometimes we pass things up because they're a little too NSFW for Lifehacker's persona, a little too polarizing, or just a little too "out there." Sure, we've dabbled here and there—but starting today, this is going to be a place for us to push the envelope a little further with things that not everyone would be comfortable with. If you've always liked Lifehacker's (relatively) uncontroversial demeanor...this sub-blog is probably not for you.

That's not to say Lifehacker proper will never expand its horizons. Just think of this as a beta test. We're looking forward to expanding our horizons through a few sub-blogs on Kinja, and this is the first (but certainly not the last).

So be sure to add afterhours.lifehacker.com to your bookmarks or RSS feeds, since few (if any) of these posts will probably show up on the Lifehacker main page, at least for now. Think of it as a separate blog from the folks that brought you Lifehacker...just bringing you a little extra.

And, as always, send us tips and ideas if you have them! Sex, drugs, politics, rock and roll—it's all fair game here.
