If You Just Bought a New Apple Device, You Get Free Apple TV+

If you bought a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac after September 10 this year, then you can get a free year of Apple TV+ (normally $5/month). The streaming service launches November 1, after which you’ll have three months to activate your free year in the Apple TV app. (If you buy a new device after November 1, you’ll have three months from the purchase date to activate.)

TV+ launches with a slate of original shows and films, including The Morning Show, which is like ... daytime Newsroom? See more trailers on Apple’s site.

After your free year, TV+ will auto-renew for a month at $5. To cancel without missing some of your free subscription, set a calendar alert for a couple of days before your free year runs out, and include a link to the cancellation page.

If you already intended to pay for the streaming service, then consider this a $60 discount on a device purchase. On the $150 Apple TV, that’s actually a consideration. But don’t use this to justify a new iPhone.

Details for the deal are available on the Apple TV+ page and in this PDF.
