Hack the Chipotle Burrito Bowl for More Meat by Ordering All Sides

Chipotle is delicious, and their portion sizes are already generous, but if you want to maximize your meat intake, order your burrito bowl as "sides" of the components you want in it. You'll pay less, and get more meat, guacamole, and whatever else you want.

Scott Britton of Life-Long Learner passed this tip over to us, and points out that he's tried it himself with great results. A couple of caveats though: The real benefit here is you get way more food for your money. The "cheaper" side of the tip saves you a buck or two, and works best when you dispense with the beans or lettuce in favor of meat and guac. Scott mentioned that those are the parts he likes, so ordering three sides of any meat and a side of guac nets you way more than they'd normally put in a burrito bowl, and asking for salsa or a bowl to eat it from at the time of (or after) payment will usually get you a small cup for free.

Another trick: If you order the sides as just sides, the staff will get the properly sized cups for side items and put your meat and guac into each one. If you order the sides as "sides in a bowl," they'll toss everything into a normal burrito bowl container, dispensing with the precise measurements and usually giving you more food in the process.

If burritos are more your thing instead of burrito bowls, we have some tricks for you, too. I can't think of a burrito or bowl from Chipotle that I wished were bigger than it already was, but if you're looking for more of the good stuff and less of the ingredients you don't like, this hack might be worth a try. At the end of the day, you save a little bit of money and get more of what you like, and there's nothing wrong with that.
