Every year, 7-Eleven gives away free Slurpees on July 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This year you can get two.
First you get your regular free Slurpee. Then you download the 7-Eleven app and join the 7REWARDS loyalty program. Then you scan your Slurpee with the app. The next day, the app gives you a coupon for a second free Slurpee, good for one month.
This is a big trend lately—fast food chains using their “free product day” to try to get you on their pre-order app. If you don’t want junk mail, remember to use a disposable email address. And maybe slip a dollar to the poor cashier who will be swamped all day, refilling the machine and cleaning up the mess.
You might want to know that a 12-ounce Slurpee has up to 27 grams of sugar. On July 11, 7-Eleven will also be selling $1 hot dogs and pizza slices, which is honestly what I thought they normally cost.
