Nothing says DIY (or "thriftyness") quite like furnishing your entire living space in Fedex boxes—or at least furniture made from Fedex boxes. The FedexFurniture website shows how one guy, software developer Jose Avila, built it himself. Pieces include:
a fedex box couch (complete with lift-up storage space);
a fedex box dining table and chairs; and
a fedex box bed and more.
The story grows more interesting when you learn about Avila's uphill battles to defend himself, his furniture and his website.
Apparently FedEx did not like the message, as I was sent a cease and desist letter during the first business day after the site was started.
Wired picked up the story, which relates how one man is taking on the corporate giant for the sake of fine furnishings.
